CH Strawberry's Fiery Aries CD‘Fancy’ (CH Strawberry’s Caballero SOM ex Ch Strawberry’s Saja Aries) - Fancy was our first AKC champion and will always have that special place in our hearts and memories. A showpiece, she was so beautiful cars would actually stop to look at her when we took her for walks. Her first show win was a four-point major at the Silver State Kennel Club, taking Best of Breed from the American Bred class and shown for breed by a twelve-year-old Kimberlie Steele. Gary, Michelle and Kimberlie Steele finished her winning six of eight shows including four majors. After her show career, Mollie trained and showed her in obedience completing her CD title in less than six month. In her best obedience showing, she had a score of 193.5 out of a possible 200 giving her a Novice B placement. She always seemed to be saying, “Look at Me, I’m Pretty”, and she was. |

CH Ju-Be’S Lacie Rosallero‘Lacie” (Ch Strawberry’s Caballero SOM ex Rose of the Fields). - Lacie was a home-bred champion, bred by Reuben and his wife, Judi. Her dam, Rose of the Fields ‘Rosie”, was a plain brindle bitch that was purchased as a pet, although she was from a show-bred litter. Rosie was not of show quality, but had a good pedigree including grandsires, CH Strawberry’s Caballero SOM and CH Brandy’s Duke II CD, and her sire was CH Becrelen’s Big John. Rosie was bred back to a grandsire and produced a litter of three pups including Lacie. She was shown to her championship by Rich Mysliwiec, Sr. who showed great patience with a bitch that did not always want to be shown. Three attempts to breed her failed, and the Smith family’s breeding program was put on hold for a few years. |
